I put this post in the wrong place - but for anyone who is interested in the EU debate, 20 minutes well spent here.

Very good!! though of course nothing new in stating the obvious arguments. When I read some comments from the ostriches above who condemn it but won't even listen and are unable to give a rational reason why the UK should remain in this failed enterprise, I feel comforted that the out vote will indeed succeed this summer.

Many congratulations to you and Mr sp1814.
I hope the two of you have a wonderful day. :o)
As Churchill said, "My enemy's enemy is my friend".

I'm phoning News at Ten right now.
People mock about Tory divisions over Europe but it bears no comparison the the Labour position. Briefly, it was this:

1972 No
1975 Yes
1983 No
2016 Yes
...forgot to post:

1967 Yes
to me it is obvious SP, the greatest threat to freedom and Liberty is the EUSSR, I have my differences with the left but all bets are off if you cannot run your own show. That's why it always amazes me that most seem to put party politics ahead of national security. In war time even the government and opposition are on the same side and we are most decidedly at war. Sadly the enemy is within as well. I'd work with anyone who'd free us from the evil empire even GG who normally I would not *** on if he was alight. The EUSSR is a great tyranny that must be resisted, shame we are awash with collaborators.
so at some point JD they'll be shaking it all about will they?
I hope you have a great day and will be very happy, sp.

Don't worry, TTT. When the was is won the collaborators will be dealt with. I hope HMG has made plans to reconstruct the gallows at Wandswoth.
"I know all the facts pertaining to Eurovision, but that is unlikely to help here. "

Sigh. Fast computer, slow learner.
TTT

That's very honest of you.

Pragmatic even.
sp; are we invited?
Khandro

Absolutely!

The only gifts left on the wedding list though, are a Bentley Continental GT (British racing green please), a medium-sized flat in Barcelona...oh, and the Crown Jewels...but not that orb thing.

Let me know when you have receipts.
Jackdaw,
It is worth remembering that in the 1971 Commons vote on joining the EU, 39 Tory rebels voted not to join, and Heath had to rely Labour MPs to get our EEC membership approved by Parliament.

The left of the Labour Party has always been anti-Europe. Thus, when ypu say 1975 Labour was pro-Europe, it wasn't. There was a free vote in the referendum, and many Labour MPs were in the OUT camp, most notably Tony Benn.
In this discussion Farage and Galloway talk about Channel 4 News and Michael Crick's discoveries on irregularities in the Thanet South election by the Tories, there was even mention of a possible re-run.
Does anyone know what this is about, and is it something ongoing at the moment? any link appreciated.
