Hi...just wanted your opinion on why blokes ask for your number, then don't call? I was out last week, talking to a chap (who had previously told my best friend that he liked me).... at the end of the night, I was talking to my mates and he came over (from the other side of the room!) and asked me if I wanted to go out sometime and could he have my number! I was pleased and suprised and passed him my digits...... and......he's not called! DOH.... Am I being impatient? How long should you wait before you contact someone after taking their number? Is it the whole "boys take numbers as an ego boost with no intention of calling"....which is what one of my friends has said.... ? Thanx..

Maybe he just changed his mind
maybe; but if he'd already told someone else he liked you, then he probably does. So why hasn't he called? Maybe he's been busy - GCSEs or something? Maybe he's shy and working up the nerve? Anyway, I'd give him a few more days before starting to write him off as a time-waster, but don't invest too much emotional energy in him just yet either.
Maybe its the law of averages. I know guys who ask every girl's numbers as a matter of course, then put them in order of preference and go down the scale until they strike lucky. So maybe he got lucky on the first one. Or maybe his mum washed his jeans with your phone number still in them - has been known. Why not revisit the pub/club and see if you can spot him.
Maybe he had a bet with his mates on how many girls numbers he could get.
Always get there number that way if you change your mind or if you had your beer goggles on they wont be harassing you so you have to change your number. :-)

Maybe he came over because he really does like you asked you for your number, but hasn't phoned you because you might think he only has the confidence to talk to you when he's drunk.

He might not want you to think that he only likes you when he's drunk. Some guys are really sensitive like that.

He probably thinks a lot of you, and is worried you''ll get the wrong idea.

Only a suggestion - but maybe he's already in a relationship & thought twice about phoning you!

maybe u gave him the wrong number?
Depends what you mean by 'last week'. If you met him at the weekend I think generally blokes don't ring until at least Wednesday, maybe give him a bit more time?
leandrews is spot on.

Thank you all.... you've all made sense n given me food for thought.... I shall just chill my boots and let fate take its course.... ave a guden. x

Why give someone your number who you know nothing about, he previously told your best friend that he liked you, could,nt you work out that from your chat with him.

Of course it could be that he thinks he a bit of a player, and once he gets to know you are asking for him he will make his move, it could be that hes shy or trying to collect ex-amount of telephone numbers, but this dosen't meet the profile of someone shy.

My bet is hes got a few women on the go, and when his busy social diary is freed up, your get a call, or you will go to the same place where you met him and he will move in on you, hes testing you before making his move

Play him at his own game if you like, as other Ab,s have advised, get his number if you can, if he withholds giving his number or says he's not on the phone, the alarm bells in your head should be ringing
