piddy this is not in Law

the last time someone did this to me I cancelled the contract -
clearly the wino is needed for Eckmas
and so time is of the essence - and being out of time is a deal breaker

( usually apparently being timed out is NOT a reason for cacelllation )
That's pretty good for Yodel. I'm impressed!

lol ^^indeed ..good job I was home or it would have been abandoned on my doorstep for any passing opportunist to grab as contents were clearly labelled !
Maybe...they put a card through my door twice when I was in (didn't think to knock or ring the doorbell) and then ignored the day I had requested on the automated service and tried the day after when I was at work. Then sent it to Hemel Hempstead for me to collect. As it was worth less than a fiver anyway, I just told them to send it back.
The really crappy thing is that (if you try to complain to Yodel) they will merely point out that their contract is with the sender, not the recipient, and invite you to "get stuffed" (I paraphrase their legalistic bullcrap, but that is the sentiment it conveys).

had I known yodel was the carrier I would not have bought it..have had several run ins with them..claiming to have delivered goods..in practice left on doorstep and been nicked by passers by..I have a short cut to the side of the house that all and sundry use to get down to main street shops and bus stop...
I did cancel one order as soon as I realised it was going with them.
Murraymints - have you tried looking on the roof?!

Hermes are just as bad - they were terrible leading up to the Christmas break. I ordered something from Lakeland and they use Hermes as their carrier - the order took far too long to turn up and, when it did, the outer box was all bashed around - lucky the contents were well insulated, and they weren't damaged. And when I got in touch with them by email (couldn't find a phone number to have a rant!) they just said (the electronic equivalent of a mumble) that they wouldn't accept a complaint from me, it had to be from the people who actually sent the item to me. (like Yodel) Wasn't best pleased, but at least the packet arrived (just in time I should add!). Interestingly, I ordered something else from another company who use Hermes, and the item arrived in a very timely manner!

I know someone who ordered a laptop ..and they left it under his car on the drive !!! good fortune that it wasn't squashed when he reversed out..he was so angry (nearly£500 worth) that he contacted them to report non delivery and got another....driver was supposed to get a signature so he had them bang to rights..served them right !!!
Question Author
a neighbour 3 doors up delivers for Hermes so we always get anything as soon as she gets it ..she hands it in when she knows we are home...
Question Author
chokkie..I saw that one..lol....I also took delivery of a Boden water jug and glasses from Yodel..only in a thousand pieces after I found it under a shrub down drive...clearly had been tossed down the drive...no car on drive = no one home as far as they are concerned..nothing through door either..found the parcel when weeding !!
Blimey this is terrible knocking copy for Yodel and yet I suppose they will do absolutely diddly squat about it

... I cancelled as soon as I found it was Yodel - OMG !
