Following a puncture, my tyre valve, with a sensor attached was damaged.
The replacement part costs £25 (funny how you can't just buy a valve anymore and just connect it to the sensor!!)
Anyhow my garage then told me it would cost another £60 to fit the valve and sensor as it has to be programmed into the EMS and aligned with the other 3 sensors!
Is this correct or just a dealership trying to make even more money??

The short answer is 'no'. Valves can sometimes be replaced without changing the sensor. Go online and find a firm near your home who are expert in Direct TPMS systems and get a quote.
£60 labour is not a lot. You might get it done cheaper but make sure they know what the are doing and have the right equipment..

I bought a set of Tyrepal sensors which just screw onto the valve, replacing the cap. If a valve is damaged it can just be replaced and the sensor moved onto the new valve. If a sensor is damaged a replacement can be bought (£33, I think) and just screwed onto the valve. It has to be programmed to the receiver but that is a 2-minute job that you do yourself.

It was a factory-fit bhg481. The garage that replaced the tyre didn't seem capable of connecting the sensor to a new valve (it was the valve that was damaged)
The sensor and valve stem are integral, you can only replace the valve core. If the valve stem was damaged the garage should have fitted a new sensor and programmed it.
