Receiving Text Alerts From The States.....

I want to receive text alerts NOT emails from NASA about the whereabouts of the ISS.
The website asks for my SMS number (my mobile I presume) but when I put what I think is the correct number with international dialling code the website is telling me it's wrong.
So if my mobile number in England is 07777 123456 what would I enter into NASA website?

Maybe they don't cater for international texting ? Maybe they count digits and reject international.

Do you use the full access code from the States or the +44 version ? If one doesn't work try the other.

According to the yellow box below, the SMS service relies on your carrier offering an e-mail to SMS service (if you look at the examples they are all of the form [phonenumber]@[carrier email service address]).
So either you need to find out if your carrier offers such a service, and if so, what their e-mail to SMS address is, or you'll have to accept the alerts via email.
