Thank you gangsboy but the only problem is that you have to subscribe and also to go on face book. I am not and don't want to be on face book.
Stuff pears with bits of dried fruit - raisins, currants, sultanas. I add a bit of finely chopped stem ginger, (the type in jars, in syrup).
Melt the After Eights in a bowl over a pan of boiling water. Gradually stir in single cream until the mixture is of the consistency of a pouring sauce and pour over the pears. They were a favourite of my parents, quick and easy to do.
Of course you could use the sauce for any other dessert, it just seems to go well with pears.
I've posted the same link as gangesboy-clicked on several of the recipes, and went straight to sources...no facebook.
