Hey all :)

Im looking to buy a new mascara and foundation, but need a bit of help on what to get. I want a lightweight foundation, but that still provides good coverage and makes my skin look clear and even. I would like a volumising/lengthening mascara, that creates a dramatic effect on my eyes. I am willing to spend up to around 20 on each item, as these are going to be used for some special occasions i have coming up soon, and would like to look my best :) Any ideas ladies??? Many thanks :) xx

I use Maybelline XXL waterproof with the double ended brush and it can really make your eyelashes huuuuge!

I can't speak for the foundation though as I'm currently using Maybelline Everfresh and I think it's a bit too heavy for summer.
I like Marks & Spencers Just Perfect foundation, it is just about perfect for me. As for mascara I've got some of that maybelline waterproof mascara with the comb. It looks GREAT but a b*gger to get off so I only use it when I'm going out, not for everyday!
I am very happy with all Jade/maybelline stuff.
For lashes I use (on certain occasions) the white lengthening stuff (same brand), prior to colouring.

the best make up i ever bought was the false lash effect byYSL and dior skin compact by Dior. the m ascara is perfect for my type of lashes (short, thick and straight) it makes them long and stay 'upright'. the dior skin is a powder foundation. it lets your skin breathe, and it has this light shimmer that makes your face so radient, perfect for summer. honestly, its the best i ever bought mascara is around 17 and the face is 24 - 26. available from cosmetic counters in department stores

My favourite mascara is Extra Super Lash by Rimmel. It makes your lashes look lovely and long!
I'd have to agree with leandrews; it's fab! I also use the new Rimmel foundation 'Recover' (I think it's called), it's lovely and light and a really good colour too x

I find Lancome Amplicils mascara to be excellent. I can't recommend a good foundation as I am still looking for one myself, but I can recommend Smashbox Primer for under your foundation. It makes your skin feel like silk and creates the perfect base for your make up. For the mid and higher price range cosmetics try checking out www.powderpuff.net for excellent prices and free delivery. I buy my mascara and skin care products there. Ebay is the best bet for Smashbox prices and I can highly recommend Smashbox cosmetics.

It is SO hard to find a good foundation. I always go wrong! And never have any luck at beauty counters either, they always choose colours too dark or textures too heavy and just don't seem to understand my skin at all. It's dry, but greasy on top - yuck. So, the foundation sticks to the dry bits and looks all shiny - can't win.

So if anyone has any genius recommendations, I'd love to hear them too!
Revlon Skinlights is fab and fits all the criteria you specified.

Benefit Bad Gal Lash is a Good Mascara with a big fat brush. maybellines dream mousse foundation is fabulous.
