Large Ipad Better Than Mini Ipad?

My old large iPad picks up the Internet at home no problem. But my little mini iPad constantly tells me there is no signal, and I have to switch off the connections, pull out all the plugs and then plug them in again to get it started.
This is about twice a day and very annoying.
I also find problems with the mini when I am in hotels. It often refuses to work, (I travel with it as it is much lighter than the old one.)
Any suggestions to get a better reception?

Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings and see if that makes a difference.
