I was going to say sweat holes, but then saw Mamyalynne's nicer description. Tennis players tend to have the same kind of holes in the armpits areas of their shirts.

Makes sense I suppose although they don't look like holes on the tv. They look more like the non-slip soles on slipper socks. Thanks anyway guys.
