I always have two apps on my phone to give forecasts, one by the BBC and one by the met office. I would have expected the met office to have been more reliable but certainly I find that the BBC to me the most accurate. For instance, the met office app has forecast snow for about the last 4 days, and they forecast snow for many days through the winter months where the BBC forecast rain and rain is what we got for the largest part. I'm assuming that the BBC get all their information from the met office to be able to do the forecasts, I'm just surprised that the met office get it so wrong so often compared to the BBC.

I have just checked the forecasts for tonight and the met office is forecasting snow yet again and has forecast snow for the last few days, where the BBC correctly predicted rain.
I use the Weather Channel, I find it is more accurate
Last year we had a spell of storms which lasted for several days. During one particularly nasty thunderstorm with very heavy rain, I looked at the Met office report, and it said "partly cloudy"!!!
I always look at Accuweather .Pretty accurate too. They can tell you to the minute when it's going to rain and for how long .Plus I like their arthritis and allergy forecast and wether or not it's going to be a frizzy hair day ..lol.
Ratter15 my papers this weekend have had many pictures of snow in the NE, Durham, and Yorkshire.
