I doubt he will answer you.
Well you're right Conne, it's coming from 'as above'. Not here in Dorset yet, is it coming?
I think you've got the answer in your description:

"above"

What rain? Where?
It's still pissing down here, floods on roads, even the A39 between Tresillian and Probus has been closed (Falmouth/Truro to Plymouth)

Now if you can get God to move this persistent Jet Stream northwards towards the Faeroes and Iceland, then you will do us all in the SW, Wales and elsewhere, a big favour!
Hi Conne, we (Isle of Wight ) are having a rare rain free day today. It has been relentless. I feel for people affected by the floods, must be awful. Roll on spring eh ?
When I was at school, we were taught about 'the water cycle', which means that the water just keeps on getting recirculated. The same amount of water goes round and round. There must be a finite amount of water, surely?
I think it’s raining cats and dog because- I’ve just stood in a poodle!
fingers and toes crossed it hasn't rained today, but it has for the last couple of weeks, horrible
If you want a scientific answer, out of the Atlantic Ocean. There's plenty more of it. I blame the Americans (but then I do for most things).
No rain here, I feel sorry for you out West - the sun's shining, there's a very cold wind but it's been a lovely winter day.
Never mind a sink hole in a field

What about this

Just back in Whitstable from Bluewater, went up mid morning, lovely sunny day, good driving conditions, great!
i just posted question about this very subject, and featured that piece, not nice at all to be faced with gaping hole outside the house, even worse had the house gone into it
You are bloody lucky - it's still wet here and very dark....the wind has dropped.

Next round, this time tomorrow, 60mph winds inland, 85 on the coasts....trees to drop forecast.
DT its been very bad up here, today has been the mildest day for weeks.
Love Whitstabubble, weather been bright but cold no rain where I am
emmie, a new definition of 'I've gone and got us a new sink....'

Imagine losing your car in that (an old chalk mine perhaps the cause)....we have lost part of a house near Camborne last week due to the same thing, though probably an old tin or copper mine working.
