If you plan to travel outside British territories you may require a visa to enter your destination.

How can I find out more about visa applications

If you have a question about visa requirements, the best place to start is with the Consolate or Embassy of the country you're planning to visit.

What if I'm not a British citizen, but just live here

If you look at your passport, it will note your national status. If it says British Dependent Terriitories Citizen, British Overseas Citizen, British Subject, British National Overseas or British Protected Person, you may needed a visa that isn't required by British citizens.

Is there a good website to find out more

Try www.ukpa.gov.uk which is the United Kingdom Passport Agency website. It has lots of information on travel advice, eligibility and buying visa online.

What about passports

Make sure your passport is valid for the trip. Some countries have an immigration requirement for a passport to remain valid for a minimum period beyond the date of entry into the country.

Is there a country in the world it's just not possible to visit

Afghanistan seems to have closed its doors to visitors at the time of writing. Tourist visas are not being issued, but it is possible to obtain a business visa for up to three months.

Is it true you can'tvisit some Middle East countries if you've been to Israel

Holders of Israeli passportsmay be refused entry to other Middle East countries. Other nationalities may have trouble visiting some Middle East countries if they have an Israeli stamp on their passport or a stamp indicating an Israel/Jordon crossing.
