UK holidays 'less hassle'

The popularity of UK holidays rose this year thanks to the trouble-free, cheap getaways available on these shores.

Many of us remember the great seaside holidays of days gone by, complimented perfectly by the great British summer. Now many people are heading further abroad to warmer climates for their holiday getaway, but for anyone who has ever organised a holiday abroad, you know that it comes with its fair share of headaches.

It seems that many families are taking a step back and instead of booking an expensive holiday abroad, they are choosing to re-live their childhood holidays back in Blighty.

One of the perks of choosing a UK holiday over a foreign destination is the lack of booking and traveling hassle, according to an expert.

Trips to Britain's seaside towns would be recommended as they involve less travel, Hoseasons says.

The firm advises that these types of breaks could also be easier as holidaymakers do not need to change their currency.

Marketing director at the firm, Tim Fullam, says: "There is an appreciation of the improved quality of UK holidays - like lodge parks - and that's made a difference to the way people view UK holidays as well".

"Some of the homes we offer have everything a family needs for a luxury weekend away. From swimming pools to pool tables, things that you may find in a foreign villa can be found over here too"

Years where good weather is predicted by the Met Office can also spur people to put their passport away and have a homeland holiday, he added.

The company offers a range of self-catering family holidays in locations across the country.

These include their parks in Hemsby, Wemyss Bay and Billing Aquadrome.

Breaks on barges - cruising the UK's waterways - and in cottages are also available for those lusting for a different holiday experience.

Those considering taking an annual break close to home could consider having a travel Q&A with an expert to find out what their options are.
