DID you choose to swopthe frost and mulled winethat goes with a traditionalBritish Christmas forsun and sangria Where you spend your holidays says a lot about you.

Lawyers lounge on beaches, while secretaries seek far-flung destinations. Estate agents enjoy being house guests abroad and accountants like adventure holidays, according to a survey from the travel firm Thompson Holidays.

The study also claims that fourout ofevery five journalists say their ideal holiday activity would be wine-tasting, while nurses love to party on their hols. Over half the country's teachers enjoy learning the language of the country they visit , while, not surprisingly, a third of chefs love to try the food of their host nation.

More than a million Brits are expected to go abroadthis winter, with the recent heavy rain and snow driving many to seek sunnier climes. The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) says numbers going overseas are 11 per cent up on last year's figures andan increasing number of peoplechose to spend Christmas abroad.
