I thought there were cheap flights available to Australia around, £500ish, but now I can't find any.

I'm thinking of going from around 12-26th Feb, Heathrow to Melbourne.

does anyone have any links/suggestions? thank you :o)

(for those on my FB contacts, pls don't mention it there as I'm planning on surprising my sister for her birthday!)

watch it, mate!
:-)
lol....

I'll phone my mate later Sara. She works for Thomas Cook and knows where to get all the cheap flights.
Question Author
thanks ummmm, you're a star x

off to work now, catch you later :o)
Hi Sara, i have looked at my special staff industry rates, and i'm afraid the cheapest i can get is via Singapore with BA and QF, and even with the discount it is £942.

If by any chance that is any use, let me know!
Kx

thanks kira, that's really good of you but I have found cheaper flights elsewhere. but they're not "cheap" cheap!

thanks anyway, I appreciate it x
You'll pay around a grand... Try Trailfinders...
Re my above post... China Doll has researched this as she's going at xmas (just in case you missed her spouting off about it!)... she says expect to pay more like £1400 for that time of year...
Question Author
in Feb? I've seen flights for around £750.

even Emirates was just over £900 from Heathrow.

I missed China's rant!
China Doll is going before Christmas, which is peak peak peak period. They'll have come down a bit by February, but still fairly high as it's summer there. Cheapest routes may be ones that go via a hub somewhere else, like Emirates or JAL or Malaysian. Your sister will need a visa, free online.
I'd book the £750 one then!

Can I come?
Try skyscanner.net. I got my girlfriends sister a flight home from Australia at 12 hours notice for €650 last week, so I'd assume if you were booking well in advance it may be cheaper.

of course you can snags.. I was a bit wary of flying that far on my own :o)

thanks flobadob. I think I checked that site, but I checked so many it all began to blur!

I've not booked yet so will take a look tomorrow.
