I have got condensation in my car boot, that is to say, where the spare tyre is.The cover and boot carpet are not wet,so it must be coming from underneath..?????????

I had noticed a mouldy smell in my car for ages but have only just found out the cause.

Can anyone throw some light on the subject?
Thanx

Sorry,forget to say...Ford Mondeo.
Hi, In the well of the spare, under the spare there should be a rubber or metal plug in the base of the well, check that this is in place.

Thanx TWR,will look at that...will let you know
I doubt if it is condensation - more likely to be a leakinig rear lamp cluster rear windscreen seal.
Best way to fing out is to empty the boot - climb in with an torch and get someone to spray water from a hose pipe over the rear of the car until the leak is found.

Hi Woodchopper
You could be right, someone has suggested that to me.Do you mean get in the closed boot...gosh ...would have to be someone quite small !!!

I have also been told that garages can do "a water test",is this correct and is it expensive?
