I am travelling with a diabetic on tablets not injections, can I take biscuits and a bananas in my hand luggage for her ?, we have a 3 hour stopover in the US before the internal flight and I have been told the meals on US airlines arent that good and there could be a delay so she will need to eat, wil I be allowed to take snacks from the UK and will we have to dump the fruit before we land in the US or can we take it with us ?
any suggestions, apparently on the internal flight you have to buy your food on the plane ?
how long is the flight from Charlotte to Vegas pls ?
help appreciated, I want this all to go smoothly on the day.
many tks Dee

You will have to eat or dump the fruit before you land. The biscuits should be no problem.

Snacks - depends what's in them
You will definitely need to dump the fruit as I know through experience, I once had an apple which I had taken as part of a early morning flight snack, which I didn't eat. I queried it with the cabin crew as on the visa waiver form you had to tick to say you weren't bringing in any fruit and wanted to check whether one apple would be a problem or whether they meant bringing in a large quantity. They said I would probably be ok with one apple, but to declare it which I did, I then had to have all my luggage re-scanned and was made to feel like a criminal all because of one pesky apple. Had I known the trouble it would cause I would have dumped it on the plane!
Even if you've had fruit in your bag and it's been eaten expect the sniffer dog to crawl all over you. You can buy food once you get 'airside' in the airport which will be better and cheaper than paying for food on the internal flight.

many thanks to all for help, will dump any fruit before landing and just take the biscuits, because "cookies" in the US tend to be very sweet & sugary and we need something plain & suitable for a diabetic.
