Hi to everyone one who has been watching this space for any further news about our cruise insurance claim after a 24 hour delay arriving back to docks and missed flights ect.
Well at last I have some positve news. My travel agent took it up with Celebrity cruise line and they got me a full refund.! I am over the moon and so glad I didnt give up months ago.
Thankyou for advise and help I have been given.

thats really good! i have finally got paid out for my claim (6 months later) although no luck with getting anything for the accommodation back :(
I would write a letter to your travel agent to thank them in assisting you, certainly worth paying any fees they received for selling you the cruise (and the travel insurance).

I still think that your insurance company should have paid up. What I believe has happened in your case is that Celebrity Cruises decided to payout, because your insurance would not. Had you had no insurance, they could have reasonably argued that you should have had insurance to cover the delay (and resultant extra costs to you).

Yes I sent them a letter the same day as I fouind out to thank them all for the work they did getting it back for me. Yes I am still really annoyed with the travel insurance company and would not use them again. And now I will make sure I ask the question about delays on way back ect. Many thanks for your help also putting me onto Gill.
