We're heading to dublin this weekend coming, and as we all know, it has got very expensive. We're planning on avoiding the more expensive, touristy parts like Temple Bar, and were wondering if anyone could point us in the direction of any little "hidden gems" when it comes to pubs/bars?

Ideally something a bit quieter, cheaper than places like TB, and if it does food, even better!

Get over the river by the jameson factory/tower
we go fairly regular, for rugby (6 or 8 guys) and like a short trip on the DART train south to blackrock, a few wee bars there, well worth a day out
take the Dart to howth, bray ,blackrock. Try some of the dublin village like areas Rathmines/Ranelagh are nice, Lucan or Maynooth are a Dart or train away. I would avoid Dublin City Centre where possible. You could go to clonee dunboyne either. My favourite is Bray
