Can anyone recommend a warm country to go to for a holiday in January?
Ideally, somewhere within a flight time of 5 or 6 hours from the UK.
I have been looking at Egypt and The Canaries , but the weather forecasts in the brochures differ from the weather reports on line. I just want a place that is nice and warm, without any rain!
If any one has been to a good winter country I would appreciate any recommendations!

Thanks for the replies.
Legend, you remember it well !
Yes, I had a great time last year in Tenerife.
My partner is still recovering from breaking her leg 5 months ago, so we are delaying the holiday until January to give her more time to recover.
Reading the weather reports for Tenerife in January it seems like there could be rain, so we were looking for somewhere that more or less guarantees sunshine!
To KIDD72
It is AB SUGGESTIONS, and I was asking if anyone could SUGGEST a place to go on holiday
I thought you were asking for recommendations not suggestions? I still think you'd get a better response in Travel.
samsong

how long u comin for

most folk would come for a month in january

flights around 200 quid to 250 each
and then an apartment for 800 for the month tops

that way the few days rain dont matter
i know a guy comin in jan for 10 weeks
and his wife has a debilitating disease and the warm weatehr helps it

Thanks again, Legend.
We are looking for somewhere to go for 2 weeks.
Due to there being a good chance of it raining during January in Tenerife I think we will give it a miss.
I will be coming over there for a couple of weeks in November again next year though!
Thanks for the first hand advice and weather report, I really do appreciate your help.
And yes, IT DID HELP !!!
Sorry samsong7, I thought you didn't realise that AB Suggestions is meant to be for the site, i stand corrected.

To AB ED, any suggestions what to have Dinner, with it been cold here anything warm would be a scrumptious suggestion.

thanks..

^^^ How Childish is that ???? ^^^
We,ve been to Lanzarote several times in Jan and had good weather a little windy but no rain.
If you are travelling without children I strongly recommend the Coronas Playa Costa Teguise.
Happy holiday!!
Where have you found your question?

Only been helpful.

Thanks Legend. Next time I'm in Los Cris I'll get you a drink at Little Italy.
I enjoyed a decent meal there last year !
I've been to Egypt (Sharm) a couple of times in January and the weather has been great. It's been warm enought to sunbathe on the beach and swim in the sea.
Question Author
Mrs overall, what did you think of the drinks, ie lager and spirits?
We are thinking of going All Inclusive, which includes locally made beer and spirits.
Someone who has been to Sharm reckon that the spirits are rubbish and taste nothing like they do in England.
