We are going to new york in the summer, and are flying from Edinburgh with Delta Airlines, does anyone know if they have upgraded their 757/200 yet? I think I read or heard somewhere that they were intending to replace the overhead tv with back of the seat monitors, also in general what is this particular flight like I;e legroom, service etc. Thanks in advance

They haven't yet and I'm afraid any refits may now be on the back burner due to the on/off/on merger situation. Delta want to retire a lot of their aircraft. In fact, their 757 was really stretching its distance as a trans-atlantic aircraft. Whilst it's certainly capable and meets all safety requirements, it wasn't designed for that market and does have some load restrictions. Is the Delta flight a done deal, or have you the opportunity to change possibly to someone else? Sadly, Delta excel in their mediocrity. It's a bit like pay your fifty bucks, pick up your folding chair and you're on your way. Best of luck!
I found a link for you that 'somewhat' answers the IFE on DL. Have a look at:

But as with many revelations of marketing, notice the phrase describing the entertainment. It clearly does not say seat back screens. So....it could be that they're just being nonchalant about it...which isn't their style, or they intentionally want to be vague. All US originating 757 acft are fitted with at seat audio...so this statement 'could' just be a reaffirmation of that.

I'm not even certain you could get a completely accurate answer from Delta's reservation centre in the UK as they're a contracted service and may just read to you the same details you are already aware of.

Best of luck!

Thanx Oiverbotel, It seems the Edinburgh/Atlanta flight has the seat monitors (according to the statement in the link you sent me) but you are right, they are very vague about the New York flight!! In answer to your question about us booking with another Airline, we have already booked, we stupidly took the easy option, that is flying direct from our city, instead of flying down to london and getting the choice of airlines, and now we are panicking a bit now because my husband is 6ft 3" and we think the leg room could be tight also it would be good if we had our own monitor to take the sting out of the long flight. but hey ho, whats done is done!!!
