Today I received a letter to tell me I had won a holiday throught an internet competition, I know I may have entered competitions via the internet but never take them seriously, It told me me I had won a holiday valued at 3,500 I telephoned the number etc all seemed quite genuine, told me it was a years subscription to holiday apts all I needed to do was get travel there etc. Is this genuine or a scam!!

Have you done any googling on who the letter came from? See if they come up on any scam wesbites or similar.

If a limited company, you could check them out on Companies House (http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/f14d811151f7 d1cf4e51934ffe263145/wcframe?name=accessCompan yInfo).

If you say who it's from (if you're comfortable doing that) someone may have heard of them (good or bad) or you could post another Q asking if anyone has heard of the company.
scam

You have to purchase their insurance and other extra as part of their package......please dont touch it
agree with Fish the Mod scam

If you win a holiday then you win a holiday, everything paid, not you sort out the flight etc
Sure is eggs is eggs it is timeshare accommodation not in use / blocked because the owner hasn;t paid his maintenance being offered on the open market.
I got one last year. It said I had to travel to Manchester to collect my prize but on questioning it I was told that it would only give us the holiday once we had agreed to buy a time share. beware
did the same, it is a scam with a capital S
