Can anyone give any tips on holidaying in Tunisia? We have just booked a cheap package deal for a hotel in Hammamet in Tunisia. I am slightly concerned about jabs as there is mixed advice and the fact that we are travelling in 2 weeks when most jabs are expected 6 weeks before travelling. Also what is the best currency to take and are there plenty of ATM's? Also any other advice of tips would be much appreciated! Many thanks in advance.

Melody...Hvae you been there before?
Have you been yet? Did you like it? I love Tunisia - going for 3 weeks next week. Currency is Tunisian Dinar - roughly two to pound, travellers cheques, plenty ATM;s. Illegal to bring out of country - so spend it all! Try cheers bar (ask for Bel Azur hotel) or circus bar, just round the corner, beer cheap, but a good night. Taxis very cheap. Say no to vendors and haggle in Medina, start at a third of what they are asking - better still - make friends with tunisians and they do it for you! Buy spirits at airport, very expensive in resort, wear mossie cream/repellant
oops - 4got to say - I did have jabs - check with your Doc
