Don't just stay on Oahu
Do spend some time on Kauai
Don't miss the Arizona Memorial
Do try poi just once (so you can say you've tried it.
Do Go to Maui
Do say "Aloha" and "Mahalo" (thank you)... it's not considered corny...
Do slow down and relax... Hawaii is quite laid back
Don't honk your horn at some one, especially if he/she is a native Hawiaan... it's rude and they are enormous!
Do Visit the Bishop Museum and the Iolani Palace if you are in Oahu.
Do Spend the money to toue Kilauea(http://www.lavatours.com/ is only one source)
Do stay on the trails, though...

Do Enjoy your trip!
We hired a car from Alamo on Ala Moana Boulevard for $40 for the day, booked online. Might do you a better deal if you are there longer. They will come and pick you up if you are in the Honolulu area. We then drove right round the island. Great way to pass a day.
