Santa Ponca a lovely part of Majorca. Head to 'The Square' in the evenings, where you'll find live entertainment (for the kids until about 9pm) then adults until about 1am... tribute bands etc. Shops/Bars/Restaurants all surround The Square so you're not short of a place to eat or drink. Lovely beach at Santa Ponca - (pronounced PONSA) - lovely restaurants on the seafront etc. Enjoy! - we've been twice with kids and they loved it. During the day its the beach/pool and that's about it (too hot to walk about) although in Majorca there are waterparks/Marinelife Centre etc.
Sorry - I know nothing about Car Hire!

I enjoyed Santa Ponsa when we were there but many of the hotels were up a lot of steps! EG it was about 80 steps from the main centre, beach, bars, restaurants etc to our hotel, which mightn't be great for a 4 year old.

Apart from that , its more or less the typical holiday resort, decent beach, usual bars, usual restaurants etc, nothing special, but not bad either!
