As a first time visitor to Hong Kong last September, I was very disappointed. I think some people go there believing it is cheap, but it is quite the opposite. the cost of living might be slightly cheaper than here in the United Kingdom, but only very slightly. In September, temperatures were averaging about 30C by day and the humidity was about 80-90%, so slightly uncomfortable. However, there is plenty to see and do. A visit to the exciting "Peak" on a clear day is essential - you can walk up or catch the tram - and the Temple Street Night Market is also worth a visit to haggle for various items. Hong Kong's transport, especially the MTR, cannot be faulted. Regardless of where you stay, you're never more than a few minutes away from the best sights.
