It'll depend slightly on the UK airport you want to fly from, and where you want to arrive in India. Planes tend to follow a "Great Circle" route, though they might deviate from this due to weather, or for other reasons. (They tend not to fly over Iraq, these days!). This site can show you a Great Circle route between any two airports.
In the 'Paths' box, type in the three-letter codes for the departure and arrival airports, e.g. LHR-BOM for London Heathrow to Bombay (Mumbai), or MAN-DEL for Manchester to Delhi. Then scroll down a little and click on 'Display Map'. This will show you the route you'd take.
