there is not an airport in portsmouth, so i doubt it
Have you checked with your airline to see what is acceptable ID?
To be on the safe side (different airlines might have different rules), I'd take passport or photo driver's licence

What if the person only has a bus pass, and the flight will be needed in just over 2 weeks? BA accept a drivers licence but can’t get any more detail from their website. And calling their helpline is a lost cause…
seriously, don't worry about it - portsmouth does not have an airport, so such a flight does not exist
danny, i hardly think portsmouth USA - liverpool would be a domestic flight!
LOL this is almost funny. Where exactly do you think you're flying from? Even Southampton don't fly to Liverpool. At the end of the day though it's the airline who decides what ID they will accept.
I don’t think you need photo ID anymore.
Having said that, I wouldn’t risk not having it
Bednobs oops, must read all of link.
I was asked for id before boarding a domestic flight 2 weeks ago
was it BA rh? i ask because each airline is different i believe.
i got a passport for my 9yo to fly to scotland as she obs didnt have a driving license (or in fact any other photo id) the carrier was logan air. In any case, i believe the OP is confused somewhat. If he means southampton, he'd have to go via jersey or dublin (in which case he'd deffo need something)
If he means bournemouth, BA dont fly to liverpool from there
No it was EJ Bednobs
That’s odd because we flew EJ to Belfast recently and there was no requirement for photo ID at either end
It's really down to what the airline will accept as ID, so contact them.
Lol really Ick - they actually stopped someone on our flight and made them dig it out of their bag
Like others here, I'm confused!

Portsmouth Airport closed in 1973, with the Anchorage Park development later being built on the site.

The nearest airport to Portsmouth is now Southampton. The only domestic flights from Southampton are to Aberdeen, Belfast City, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds/Bradford Manchester and Newcastle.

There are no domestic flights operating to or from Liverpool airport.

So the nearest flights for you would be from Southampton to Manchester, with rail journeys needed at either end (unless, of course, you'd got a car available to you). Those flights are operated by Eastern Airways, who DO accept a bus pass as valid ID. (Here's a screenshot from their website: https://ibb.co/2YSj465 ).

Flights on that route are typically around £80 each way:

Getting to Southampton Airport Parkway by rail requires a change at Southampton Central. There are direct trains from Manchester Airport to Liverpool Lime Street:

The OP claims he is Thelands son. Are you?
“ Lol really Ick - they actually stopped someone on our flight and made them dig it out of their bag”

That is even odder
I’m pretty sure you don’t need photo ID on domestic flights.
It doesn’t stop them asking for it in certain circumstances though. That’s why I wouldn’t want to risk not having it
