Now able to meet up with six outside. Best friend is 80 today. We went to her house with our other best friends. We sat on the patio, had drinks and nibbles. It was wonderful to see everyone until!!!!
Farmer spread evil smelling slurry just up the road. I haven't had a sense of smell for thirty years but everyone else was gagging. So we moved inside.
She had cooked beef bourginione with new pots and veg. Delicious. Then her hubby got a wonderful birthday cake delivered from a company in Wembley.
Followed by lots of cheese and biscuits. We all acted very safely.
We last met up in a break from lockdown in the summer for a patio get together. Looked forward to this night for ages!

That’s so great, Caran. You need nights like this. Long may they continue!
So much missed, catch up time ;0)
I bet you are hoping that no-one dobs you in it, I believe the fines are still to continue.
Caran can just stand in the middle of the slurry and say "Come and get me, copper!"
I think it would be more than a copper or two, jno.
Good morning, I thought you could only meet up with one other house hold?
One household or up to 6 people.
It's illegal to meet indoors just because a farmer is doing what a farmer has to do.
The more this lockdown continues the more I think people are behaving like they used to in East Germany. I get the impression that everyone is waiting for the "wall" to come down but still prepared to get some sort of enjoyment out of grassing you up.
06:58 'it's still illegal to meet indoors blah blah blah .... ' SHUT UP !!
judging by the parks on the news last night i think folks misheard the recommended six for six hundred . . .

there were loads of people in the park yesterday, most seemed to be in small groups though.
Glad you enjoyed yourself Caran. It must have lifted your spirits no end.
I can't believe the number of sanctimonious people who accept this ongoing lock down situation as acceptable and would happily continue indefinitely. Have they got no social life? Sitting at home day after day and it doesn't bother them? I am absolutely sick of it all and hats off to all those young people congregating on the beaches and parks yesterday, I'm 63 and I don't blame them one little bit. Protect the NHS, save lives, 130000 deaths blah blah blah, sick of hearing it all, not interested. What the hell has the vaccine been about if it doesn't let us open up? How many deaths were there the other day, 23? Is that all? People die every day, it's part of life, a life we need to enjoy so let us be allowed to enjoy it.
I think both sides need to take a step back and think about how other people might feel.
There are 3m people shielding in this country still. They might find that the prospect of things going back to how they were unsettling, and perhaps not want to be told to shut up, or "shouted" at about how others feel. There are a large amount of people who just want to get on with things, take their own risks, that don't want to be told it's against guidance or illegal. There are a lot of people in between, or who go from one camp to the other on a daily basis.
Wasnt the rule up to 6 people or only two households at the moment? and then rules further relaxed again next month?
Also all meet up to be outside only, not indoors?
yes that is the case apparently GM.
Thanks emmie.x
May 17 will also see the introduction of indoor socialising.
