I am an Australian visiting Turkey and have been here for two weeks. I had my passport stamped but did not get a visa = they did not ask me to get one at the airport. Should I have one and what are the repercussions given i am already here. What should I do. help!

Last time I went there I was told to put a NEW twenty pound note in my passport. Sounds dodgy, I know!

Its just greasing the wheels I'm afraid.

Did you pay anything on arrival - possibly thinking it was a tourist tax? For UK citizens it's 10 a head but it varies with nationality.

If so, this was for your visa and you should be OK.

If not I've no idea.
