Just seen on news that a man has had his bungalow car and caravan torched. and people have set up a fund and has got so far 250.000 his insurance had lapsed on his home.but when you've been insured and it's time for renewal were are all inundated with insurance offers for various companies. Obviously he's not been checking mail or texts.

I think I read he had been having problems with vandalism. He is Ex army man with family. Glad people are helping
I never receive anything. Perhaps like me, he is registered with both Mail preference service and TPS, and has declined all cookies on line, along with adblocker on computer.
He’s an ex Marine living with his family in Durham who was a victim of arson attacks because he’d been vocal about loutish behaviour in his community and the only way the louts brains could come up with , was to burn his house , car and caravan down, with him, his wife and their two children sleeping in their beds

Yes glad there helping but to me it's shortsightedness in not having auto renewal or accepting reminders there a lot of property he had there . Common sense when it's such a big bungalow and caravan .
He admits that he forgot to renew. Lucky to have such good friends and neighbours.
The attempted murderers should be relentless hunted down. Then sentenced to the severest penalty allowed by law. This should not, and cannot stand. It is beyond bearing. The police and neighbours should unite and find this scum and lock it away for many years.
Must admit , I found it a bit strange ‘forgetting’ to renew something as important and that type of insurance would bd buildings which I’d have thought was compulsory ?
Dave hopefully they’ll be picked up on someone’s CCTV
It's not compulsory to insure, if you own the property outright, just sensible.
Arh right , cheers Tony
I agree entirely with David.
