Ryanair Baggage Allowance Details

If you are just a regular passenger can you still put yr wheelie suitcase in the hold at the boarding gate, free?
Well thats what i thought i read recently.

No, unless you've already paid for it, your wheelie case will incur a charge. The only free option is taking only one small bag, small enough to be stowed under the seat. I recently paid, at the time of booking, for my small (and weighing under 10 kg) case - it cost £10. If you don't pay, the price at the gate is steeper.

But note that even this can be changed by a member of staff. My son was flying with them not long ago with only the free/small bag. On return departure from Frankfurt the Ryanair gate staff refused to allow him to take the bag he had arrived with and had on board (under the seat in front) and insisted this time to put it in the hold so he had to wait at the baggage collection point at his destination. He was not charged (an admission that the bag was neither too big or too heavy). He was not happy and will never fly with Ryanair again.

the link I provided is up-to-date, the tabloid report is (I think) correct - read it and cross check with Ryanair's statement but Ryanair's own is the most reliable one.

i booked my flight several months ago and completely forgot what i´d exactly booked. Normally its just a flight and a small bag. This time i wanted to put a 10kg suitcase on board. Luckily at the time of booking if you take the baggage priority option it will only cost 6 euros( about a fiver) and this entitles you to bring on board a 10kg wheelie s/case and a small bag. Just looked at my B.Pass and this is what i bought. phewww!!
