Hi,
I’m going to Hollywood California in 9 days time. I’ve been told that you need to take I.D with you everywhere you go, if you want to go in bars. However, neither myself nor my missus have driving Licences (never learnt) and we dont really want to carry around our passports everywhere we go. Is there an alternative?
Thanks

Just photocopy your passport.
I would never want to be anywhere where I didn’t have I.D. on me. In the UK, I always have my driving licence with me for the simple reason that if I was knocked down, or had a heart attack I would want the authorities/hospital to be able to contact my family. Also worthwhile having something from your hotel with you as well.

Not sure if non citizens can get one but if you can it might be an option
Your passport will be fine...but I did have to show my age in loads of bars etc despite being obviously in my 50s at the time so it is worth having it with you all the time.
photo copy of passport showing birth date and photo... they were very strict on the age thing..
They usually card you in the USA even if you are obviously over 50. Keep a Photocopy of passport on you.
