Minus the harpoons and the arrows which would be on the hold, do i need to give the airport notice that i have these items as i don't want to have my headphones on whist carrying them oblivious to panic around me obviously.

Although this link is from Northern Ireland, the rules are obviously common throughout the UK (and, indeed, across European airspace as well as, quite possibly, worldwide):

As I would have expected, the answer to your question is 'No'.

Thanks but the good thing is that i can put them in the hold
Are you for real? Got to be a wind-up.
"i don't want to have my headphones on whist carrying them oblivious to panic around me obviously". Get a a brain.
And people are taking you seriously. Barking.

You obviously don't do adventure sports or understand the concept of taking your things with you when you go abroad and i'm really not sure how to feel to taking advice from someone who thinks that fruitcake reagan was a legend.
But if you 'do' adventure sports this must already be blindingly obvious to you. Do you also consider wearing headphones while there would be "panic around you "an adventure sport" ? And if you 'do' adventure sports has it never occured to you to ask your fellow sportsmen and women about airline rules.

Look here einstein, the question came to me when i was on the answerbank, which i did and then got an answer from chico. I've also decided today to go to oz so this was not a question i could have asked until i did, capeesh reagy?
Chill juice needed. Everyone to the AB bar.
You sound very familiar, alf.
Out of curiosity what are the harpoons and arrows fired at ?
Maybe you should buy an Italian dictionary for your flight and then you could learn how to spell 'understand' in Italian.

Crossbow-Targets at the rage and the harpoon is used for very large fish and sharks.
Okay reagy.
You've pointed this comment at the wrong person.
"Crossbow-Targets at the rage and the harpoon is used for very large fish and sharks.
Okay reagy." Think you may have meant Alavahalf. Also not familiar with the 'rage' in that context and a shark is a fish.
yeah and on the headphones which makes Alf oblivious to the chaos on the airplane, he should be playing - The William Tell overture !

[erm just adding a bit of colour to the description]

I meant the archery range and alavahalf didn't know what a harpoon was used for so told them in laymens terms. Yes i agree with you, a shark is a species fish.
yeah and for flying fish
Alf would probably need to export a surface to air missile or something
Another new poster who knows their way around AnswerBank, instantly, and asks strange questions. Mmm.
//// Are you for real? Got to be a wind-up. ////
..... To be honest, that was my initial thought as well.

Why would you want to take a harpoon and crossbow on to a plane, when you've got items in the hold .... I don't get it??

//// You obviously don't do adventure sports or understand the concept of taking your things with you when you go abroad ////
.... I still don't get it - you can put them in the hold - you'll still be taking them with you .... unless I really don't understand the concept, insofar as, you need them with you in your possession so you can feel/hold them??

..... my thoughts exactly :)

They're very expensive items which i don't want damaged or stolen! WHat's hard to understand?
Correct Alf, my 1943 collectors item Sten gun never leaves my side.
Of course in these difficult days you can't expect to be allowed more than a couple of rounds as carry-on, the majority of ammo must be checked.
