We are looking at going to the Grand Bahamas for our Honeymoon next May.

Has anybody been there and do you know whether it is safe to explore by yourself and leave the complex etc, as I know some islands like Jamaica you are advised to remain in your complex the whole holiday as it is not safe to walk around by yourself.

Thanks

My wife and I were in the Bahamas at the end of May this year and had a wonderful time. There was no trace of anything to fear but everyone seemed to be trying to sell you something - but the service is second to none. It is a lot of money to go but we saved a terrific amount using the facility found on www.ccwetravel.com/6443967. You can get substantial savings with Sandals, airlines, most hotels and carhire. Have a happy and memorable holiday.

I lived and worked in Grand Bahama for twelves months several years ago and found it a great place. Because of its small size and population everyone knew each other, so there were very few problems/crimes. Food and climate excellent. The Bahamians are more gentle than Jamaicans/Trinidadians - Touts were annoying though.
