Hi there, we do trips to London quite a lot but never overnight. We are on Sunday; just wondering if anyone has any tips on where I could put my car. I am prepared to do the usual of driving to High Barnet and getting the underground but obviously parking will be more difficult; should I risk finding a side street and leaving it there. It's quite a safe place but just not sure I will find a place. Otherwise drive into town but parking will be really costly I imagine....any ideas greatfully received thankyou!

whereabouts in London would you like to be? All the boroughs have different rules and different charges
Has the hotel you're staying in got a car park?
where are you coming from, and staying? You don't want to run the risk of having to pay congestion charge on top of parking fees.

i have just emailed somebody on "parkatmyhouse" who says a space in brick lane is £5.50 per day. Seems good but not sure and also like you say boxtops the congestion charges add up. Staying in Old Street and no parking (Premier Inn) SpudQueen.
They're all West 'am supporters round Brick Lane. Divest your vehicle of all associations with LFC else you'll have it trashed!
And if it weren't the season of good will sunflower, I'd probably suggest that you cover your vehicle with LFC stickers..............joke!
There's a parking space in north London high road tottenham unless Tim has started to use it
Tim who, weecalf - is that a helpful post you've made? This isn't Chatterbank...

Blue toffee the cheek of it! But thankyou for your goodwill and kind thoughts at this seasonal time... I always say us scousers should stick together ;)
Phew sunflower, glad you took my comments in the spirit in which they were meant.

I come from a mixed family, mostly Red, but rarely fall out.

Left Liverpool in 1964 but still return regularly, to Goodison of course!

Enjoy your trip to London and hope you're able to sort out some reasonable parking.

Actually, plenty of parking at Cockfsters, and not overly expensive, particularly at the weekend. Buy yourself an Oyster card, the travel is cheaper and you can always use it on your next visit too.
there's no congestion charge on Saturday and Sunday or between December 25 and January 1 (inclusive)

Aw toffee you can't offend me! I don't really like the rivalry up there either it's silly really isn't it? I was born up there near Bootle but have been down here most of my life...love going back..to Anfield of course. I considered Cockfosters once or twice I wonder what it's like for overnight parking though? And if I do get a space at brick lane I don't suppose there will be a Sunday congestion charge??

thanks jno just got in before I posted. Well that will save on the pennies
You can park on some of the roads in Hype Park for free.

But they do fill up quickly of you don't get there early.

I stay in a hotel in Bloomsbury when I go which has its own car park. I pay the congestion charge on the day I arrive and make sure I leave after 6 on the day I'm going. I've got a season ticket at Anfield!
Type Your Answer Here...I've not been on AB for few days so only just seen this.

There is street parking in the streets behind the Old Street Travelodge. Last time I used it there was plenty of space and it wasn't normal stupid London prices. Only thing to watch is that Borough boundaries sometimes run down the middle of the street so the parking restrictions are different on either side of the same stareet.
