Question Author
this is on behalf of some friends...
Would one of the online bus route planners not help? there appears to be plenty there.
Question Author
i don't think buses go out there, i found one but it was schooldays only
i know someone on here is good at this.
Go on journey planner, Or transport direct, both very good, I use them all the time.
Question Author
i have, it's given me endless variations, i have even e mailed the place but they haven't got back to me.
i don;t know the nearest station, it might be Staines, but it could be Egham, that's why i am asking.
It's a toss up between Egham and Virginia Water, VW is one stop further on from Egham.

I reckon if there is a bus to Englefield Green then getting one from Egham is more promising than from VW.
Question Author
it's not letting me look at the train info, might be because of cookies
would London waterloo be the best station to egham, i am assuming it is?
According to the Surrey CC website it looks like the 441 goes from Egham to Englefield Green.
Question Author
i think i will phone the place, i never would have believed the info would so difficult to get. some friends want to know where the memorial is, how far from central London, and how to get there, by public transport.
Question Author
i did see that, thanks.
Yep, Waterloo to Egham 2 trains per hour, more frequently at peak times.
Question Author
thanks, looks a difficult place to get to by public transport, car would be best but they don't drive.
If you go on to Google maps and you can get directions by putting in the start and the destination and it will give you all the information about trains and buses.
Question Author
seems the best route is Waterloo to Egham then bus to Englefield green, not sure after that. could be a simple walk to the memorial..
If Ascot wasn't on I'd pop over and do a reccw for you.

It looks like there is a bus stop at the end of Cooper's Hill Lane and then a ten minute (ish) walk to the memorial.
Question Author
are you near by then, do you know the memorial...
I do live quite close but have never visited the memorial.
I'm pretty sure the Egham route will be quicker than going via Windsor.
