Can anyone recommend a good camping place in the UK?  I am thinking towards the New Forest or somewhere similar.  We would like somewhere that is quiet enough to be amongst nature (hmm?) but also enough around to be able to enjoy the holiday without being totally detatched from reality?  Thanks folks....

Sandy Balls near Fordingbridge is nice, although not in the Forest itself.  The campsite can get noisy but there is a woodland camping bit.  Facilities are good and nowehere on the site is far from the woods, so within Minutes you can be on your own in the Forest.

Most of the campsites within the New Forest are Forrestry commission owned and tend to be basic.  We didn't like the one we camped on.

There is one private campsite within the New Forest called Red Shoot.  I've never been there but it seems to be very popular.

Hollands Wood in Brockenhurst is nice, you are in the middle of the forest and near to nice towns, like Lyndhurst and Lymington, also  not too far from Bournemouth.  You can read reviews on www.ukcampsite.co.uk.

Yes I agree, Hollands wood is perfect. 3 good pubs within a 15-20 min walk too.
