Hi, Travel section is the only place where I could think about posting this.

I found a memory card full of photos at Dubai Airport last year just minutes before I was getting onto my onward flight to Heathrow. I felt so sorry because the card was full of photos of two ladies where they travelled to Sri Lanka, India and a couple of other countries. I tried my best to find any clue from the photos to see if I could find them or any other information but was unable. I really want to get this to those people as I know how it feels when you go on holidays and then lose all of the photos. I remember leaving a note on one website that was supposed to be for these kind of circumstances. But are there any other suggestions?

Have you contacted Dubai airport? Do they have a lost and found office there? If I lost my memory card and thought it might have been at the airport I would have left contact details there in case anyone found it and handed it in.
Was it near the gate you were leaving from?

If so, what about your airline?
Contact Dubai Airport to see if anyone has reported the loss:

Every now and then I get photos on my Facebook newsfeed posted by people who have found cameras or memory cards, they ask if anyone knows the people in the pictures. The audience is obviously massive the way FB works so someone somewhere might see them and know who they are.

So many answeres so quickly. And full of good ideas. That's why I love AB and the posters at AB.

card was found in the main walk where the duty free shops are. The only reason I did not get in touch with Dubai lost items people was that first of all I was in hurry and then never thought about it thinking that the person who dropped this card may not ba aware that where exactly they lost the card.

Face book idea is great too. Thanks to all of you and if there are other suggestions please fire them in.

One thing I have done straight away just now. I have left message at the link Chris gave me.
I know this is absolutely no help at all in answering the original qhestion but it might help all you ABers with digital cameras. Whenever I put a new or re-formatted memory card in my camera I always take a photo of a piece of paper with my name, address, phone number and email address on it. I then protect this "photo" so that it can't be accidentally erased.
Michael what a good, simple, inexpensive idea!
what a good idea, michael!

That's very good idea Michael but I would avoid putting my address if I were you. Everything else would be fine.
Yes, good point KP. Thanks for reminding me that there are some unscrupulous folk about.
(I am reminded of the old proverb, "Trust in the Lord - but always tie up your camel.)

Machael - someone I know had a tag with his keys with his address on. He thought that if ever he would drop the keys someone will return it. Once he did, while going away and the only person returned those keys was someone who cleared his house and left the keys there. I have got my mobile phone on and that's all.

As for the old proverb you mentioned, I just felt like telling you that according to my knowledge that is "hadith". Hadith is collection of the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). That came as a result to the question someone asked him that how much one should rely on God and how much do yourself.
