Can anyone please recommend a nice resort in Crete ? We would like a fairly quiet place but not too far from historic places of interest, particularly Knossos. We certainly don’t want anywhere that attracts young people and party-goers.

Hi, spent lovely 2 weeks a couple of years ago at Kato Gouves. Close to Heraklion and not a 'teenage den'. Very regular lovely bus service both east and west on the island but we hired a car and explored the lovely relaxing island more inland as well. Have a great hol.

Thank you for your advice, we stayed at Kato Gouves and enjoyed the holiday very much. We walked to Spyros Taverna a coupe of times in Gouves Old Village for their home made food and refreshing drinks.
