i think ot's very unlikely to get anything cheap in the south of france EVER let alone when the festival is on
There will be six Hollywood moguls after every hotel room in town. As bednobs says, Cannes is always expensive, but at festival time it is just super expensive. She might find something along the coast and commute by train.
think about staying in Italy.......

Im trying to get it as cheap and as near as possible as she has never been away on her own let alone with a young daughter, i know food, drinks etc are very expensive thats why i thought an all inc would be better, i may be barking up the wrong tree as ive never been there either.
Nice is close but just as expensive.
Is it the sort of thing a 4 year old would be interested in? Disney Land yeah, but a film festival??
I do not think there are many places in Cannes that do 'all inclusive'. Best bet would be renting an apartment and self catering. But as others have said, all prices will increase high around festival time. We stayed in a very nice complex at Mandelieu (about 4 miles to the west) a couple of years ago. It was not cheap - but cheaper a hotel.
'cheaper THAN a hotel'

Yes Boo she would love the festival, she is a very bright little one who loves anything like this. Playbill have you any info on the place you stayed please.
I have friends in Cannes and as the demand for rooms is so high at festival time they move out of their appartments and let them out at way exorbitant prices which in turn pays for their holidays...
