i think there's a piping festival of some kind going on this week and a lot of it's happening in George Square. the sound must be drifting up to you- shame the rain hasn't muffled it a bit for you.

we'll be coming in later to go to Kelvingrove and see my sister.

I like Glasgow much better than Edinburgh, anyway, comes of living there for several years.

Edinburgh's for tourists (apart from Murrayfield, that is...), but Glasgow is real.

Inverness is grand, but I've only been there once - gee, forty years ago, 1970, when we still wore miniskirts...

Just back from Kelvingrove. The museum was jumping. lots of people enjoying the last few days of the summer holidays and escaping from the rain. One of the pipe bands was practising in the park too so we had a listen and a dance, well the girls did, before heading home.

In my totally unbiased opinion, Glasgow is far better than Edinburgh : ).
Ive only been to Inverness once; visiting family that stayed up that direction. Does / did it have a really fancy clock in the shopping centre or am I getting it mixed up with somewhere else?
