I am sorry if this question has been answered before, but I really need to know where I can find out the price of train fares. Is there a site for this or do I have to phone someone up for this?

Thanks for any replies in advance.

Yes...

http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/

But...when we went away I checked the prices and times on line. Because we were leaving ASAP decided to get the tickets at the station. Was much cheaper...I think it was £160 on line...£105 at the station.
Yep ...
Check times online.
Then go to station and buy there.
Avoid peak times!
On-line didn't even have all the times.
www.nationalrail.co.uk is pretty good. If you input your details it will give you the full range of fares available for your chosen journey. My only gripe is that it did me out of a job, too many people going on-line instead of ringing up!

More likely the online results were for a different ticket and the guy at the station knew what you really needed......
