Hello All,
Me and my fella ( aged 22 & 23 ) are going to Gran Canaria over the christmas period flying out on the 20th and returning the 27th

I remember going to Turkey in October and the place was deserted in some places, bars and restaurants boarded up ect. Just wondering if anybody can tell me how busy gran canaria will be over christmas. We are staying in playa del ingles.
Thanks in advance
Loren :)

Spent Christmas a few years back in Maspalomas, and everything was open and functioning as normal. Would imagine Playa del Ingles would be the same. What I remember is that there were poinsettias everywhere - and not just weedy little pot plants like we have here, but big shrubs. I envy you.
I agree with the previous answer. Wintertime is peak period for the Canaries so Playa del Ingles is always busy. We are going ourselves in January. Visit Las Palmas old town, especially Columbus house, which is very beautiful. There are good shops! Have a good time!
Yes holidays to Turkey finish at the end of October because it is like anywhere else in Europe it starts to get cold. Gran Canaria will be very hot and everything will be open and very busy, have a great time , you are so lucky!!
