How long does it take to ascend Thorpe Cloud (at a very steady pace) with an eight year old? Also - do you think an active 3 year old will manage it? Where is the best place to park?

from the car park at the south end of Dovedale to the top of Thorpe Cloud (and back) is easily do-able in 90mn. It's quite steep, but only you'll know if your 3yr old can cope.
If the Dovedale car park is full, you can park at Ilam Hall - however the extra walk will almost certainly be too much for your little'un.
