If she doesn't want to go then I doubt that there is anything you can do to persude her. I'm guessing that you are not old enough to go alone?

Save all your pocket money (or whatever you get) and as soon ass you are old enough, book yourself a holiday over there.
In the meantime get to all the available science museums in the UK - many of which are free - and sites such as Jodrell Bank so your knowledge is kept up to date, and familiarise yourself with the European Space Programme:

It's not just Americans who deal with space flights.
And dont forget when you are sitting atop of a saturn rocket looking out over Cape Canaveral as the countdown starts, its comforting to know that everything you can see has been built by the lowest bidder...bon voyage...
Perhaps you can persuade some other relative to take you? Your mum might agree to that.
What has your mum got against the USA?

I have been to the USA a number of times, both on business and for holiday, and I find the people generally wonderful, friendly and helpful (much more so than most UK based people).

The country is amazing, with a wide range of things to see and do.

I bet if she went there on holiday she would love it.

Or is it the long flight she does not like?
Have you been to the National Space Centre in Leicester?
