Hi, I have only been to the other end of the Island, but before I went I found a really good site for all things Mallorca. It is Tripadvisor and they were helpful. Try putting in the same question on there and I'm sure you will get plenty of replies. Here is the link.

been there
well just outside cala san vicente to the don pedro hotel

took bus into puerto pollensa a few times
was ok

i much preferrred cala san vicente as it was quieter.

you should have a nice time tho.
been 3 or 4 times. lovely place.

there's a nice palm tree lined promenade along the beachfront to walk along (and walk off your dinner).
Loads of restaurants along the beach, and a nice town square with restaurants around it too.
there's some kids playgrounds, street artists (jugglers, mime etc) but it's a more relaxed resort for families with younger kids in my opinion.

pretty sure there's a small water park near alcudia along the coast.
other than that, it's a really nice, friendly, clean resort, and the beach is long. Nice marina too.

you'll find a few trips to go on, I'm sure, or hire a car if you're happy to drive around.
have a good time
Just got back from Puerto Pollensa yesterday been 8 years on the trot now and love it.

I found this site a great help with all aspects of Puerto Pollensa

You lucky sods! Have wonderful memories of Puerto Pollensa, the Pine Walk, eating sardines at Los Pescadores - if it's still there - and hiring a car and driving up to the lighthouse at the end of the Formentor peninsular (wonderful mirador - sightseeing point - on the way. Very Jason and the Argonauts). I'm sure you'll have a marvellous time. And leggysreturn - is the Don Pedro really still there? Went there back in '88! Fabulous site for a hotel, but must be showing its age by now?
Just to answer Mikkanjazza

Los Pescadores is still there and still serving superb food especially fish - I was there 2 weeks ago.

And the Don Pedro is still running I know people going in 2 weeks on an all inclusive basis - and your right you cant beat the location
