How do I put the details of a house to let on the web so that when someone searches in our area, it comes up? I don't particularly want to go through an estate agent. Does that mean I can't get on Rightmove and the like?
Thanks Greg

I don't know how you do it independently, but yes, as I understand it, the Rightmove and similar sites are advertised by agents, so you'd need to sign up with them. I advertised my flat via an agent, it was useful to me as they dealt with viewings etc. on my behalf.
Just a word of warning - be very careful who you let the house to. I know of some awful cases where the owners can't get the tenant out and some are being sued by. the tenant. Most of the rights seem to be with the tenant, not the owner.
There was a programme on the radio about it last week (Radio 4).
Some times it pays in the long run to do this sort of thing through an agent.
Sorry to cast doubt on your plans.
