What the best / easiest / best quality way to take a still from footage shot on a Sanyo Xacti camcorder .. shot in HD .. I only have Windows Movie maker as its really not something i want to do a lot of but need to do it today !

Open the video file using freeware program vlc media player. There is a snapshot function. Vlc media player is also less resource hungry than Windows Media player and will play more formats without the need to download extra codecs so is worth downloading and installing.
