I have a Packard Bell laptop which is running Win.XP it has a normal qwerty keyboard
and this morning I was filling in a website questionaire, there was a word that I wanted
to underline but I could either get the letter eg. (A) or an underscore ( _ ) but I could not get both so can anybody tell me how it's done?

You probably can't in an on-line form as it's highly unlikely anyone would write a form to support it.
In MS Word you highlight the word or words you want to underline the press Ctrl + U. Alternatively press Ctrl + U before you start typing the underlined words and again when you have finished underlining. Might not work on the questionnaire you were doing though.
